In response to the FSC’s Green Finance Action Plan 3.0, Cathay Century Insurance has been actively and systematically promoting ESG talent cultivation through top-down promotion, in order to provide external cooperative learning programs to enhance all employees’ understanding of ESG issues and incorporate such issues into daily work and lives. In 2023, employees received a total of 1,362 training hours, and the completion rates for ESG series online learning resources all exceeded 90%.

Some employees at Cathay Century Insurance require frequent commuting due to the nature of their work, and may come into contact with risk factors such as traffic accidents. In order to reduce the incidence rates of occupational safety incidents, Cathay Century Insurance formulated the “Cathay Century Insurance Occupational Safety and Health Hazard Prevention Measures” in accordance with the regulations set out by competent authorities to ensure that our colleagues can work safely in healthy work places.
Other than physical safety, the mental health of employees should not be neglected. Through the employee assistance program, Cathay Century Insurance hopes to become a company that cares about employees’ mental and physical conditions. In 2023, a survey of Abnormal Work-Related Risks was delivered to inspect employees whose risk level is above 70. Appropriate assistance was provided including drawing up caring projects. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) was adopted, which provided phone consulting or face-to-face consulting for employees who have questions in terms of mental health, laws, taxation, physical health, ad management. This is to ensure their problems heard and solved.
Apart from employee spiritual assistance programs, We believe that exercise can positively promote physical and mental health. To encourage employees to prevent physical diseases through proper exercise, we organized 4 online and offline fitness activities in 2023 despite the pandemic, including aerobics, yoga and walking, to encourage employees to develop exercise habits.
