Cathay Century Insurance established the “Cathay Century Insurance Corporate Sustainability (CS) Team” in alignment with the sus tainability policies of the Ca thay Financial Holdings Board. We formed six working groups under the CS Team which are led by the manag ers of corresponding business units, and have incorporated the Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI), Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), and other financial sustainability principles into our organizational culture and value chain.
CS Team responsibilities include quarterly internal meetings to monitor progress on important working group tasks, decisions on important sustainability issues, and sharing of ne w sustainability knowledge; CS implementations are also reported to the Board each year. Additionally, we participate in quarterly Cathay Financial Holdings Group Corporate Sustainability (CS) Committee meetings to align with Group developments; our independent directors are invited to attend the meetings and express their opinions.
We use the United Nations SDGs and Taiwan SDGs to identify potential risks and opportunities in our oper ations, and hope to work together with society to achieve sustainability and mutual prosperity. Our promotion of sustainability matters complies with the Cathay Group’s three main sustainability axes of “Climate, Health, and Empowerment” and we have established sustainability axes and strategic roadmaps to integrate Group resources and influence; reduce overall social impacts and risks of environment, social, and corporate governance; and create mutual benefits for both ourselves and our stakeholders.
